“Bad companies are destroyed by crisis, Good companies survive them, Great companies are improved by them.”
– Andy Grove – CEO at Intel Corporation
No matter what level we are, at least in the past 2 months, we have made every effort to take timely actions, thereby adapting to change and strengthening our foothold before a global storm.
- ADJUST THE 2020 PLAN
Whether we are in time of peace or pandemic, we must act with a goal in mind. A proud tradition at Apex: every three months, we organize a Planning Day, allowing the entire company to look back on last quarter’s performance, as well as develop and adjust plans for the next quarter. Whatever adjustment is, high-value goals must stay on the table, and be communicated effectively to the team.
We know that a storm is approaching, but we fail to confirm the extent of its impact. In times like this, best practice is to break the action plan into smaller parts. Previously, we laid out annual or quarterly plans. Today, we set monthly, weekly, or even hourly plans.
- FINALIZE AND DISCLOSE MISSION, VISION, ORGANIZATION CHART, JOB DESCRIPTION, AND KPIs
In difficulty lies opportunity. Equipped with positive thinking, we still see the opportunity in this period, that is having time for unfinished tasks. We can say with confidence that, as being more aware of their roles, responsibilities, and targets, now each individual at Apex gets more motivated to work towards a common goal.
- DEVELOP HUMAN RESOURCES
Pre-COVID, our busy schedule only allowed us to organize intense training once a month. Things have changed in the past two months, as we have more time for increased training sessions. Training is held weekly with multiple topics, from event layout guide, problem-solving skills, creativity exercises to reading techniques, etc.
Meanwhile, the BOD has suggested brainstorm topics for the team, including what we can do after the pandemic, ideas for the year-end activities, etc. It aims to help the team maintain a dynamic pace of work, practice creativity, and keep exploring and learning. Simply put, it is because we are an event agency!
- ORGANIZE ONLINE ACTIVITIES
In order to multiply positivity, and communicate actionable insights and experience to our clients, partners, as well as the public, we live-streamed popular topics of love and women on February 14 or March 08, and held “Develop internal power – Seize opportunities” workshop with Ms. Nong Vuong Phi to answer questions on the impact of the pandemic. Since work-from-home order, we have online meetings at 9.30 a.m every day to update work, discuss fresh ideas, and share fascinating experiences.
- TAKE CARE OF CLIENTS
Also heavily affected by the pandemic, we understand the current situation faced by various enterprises. In moments like these, we need to care more and share more. At Apex, we have deployed activities to show our clients and partners that we care: send healthy gifts such as ginger nuggets, fruits, etc.; share health tips such as saltwater 3/1000 method; maintain contact through phones or text messages, etc. We want to send wishes of good health, hoping that everybody will be able to overcome the pandemic.
- ORGANIZE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Together with The TVFace, we have distributed hundreds of hand sanitizer bottles and medical masks to sanitation workers who work on the street, at Hoa Binh Theater, and at the head office of Prosound – Apex. The program has received support from the community, both in kind and in cash.
More importantly, behind all these actions, we know what value we are bringing to each other, to our clients, partners, and community: the value of INTEGRITY – KINDNESS – POSITIVITY
We do not know when this storm will pass. However, if we carry our core values along, we believe we can overcome the pandemic and be even stronger than before – become immune to disasters. In the next 14 golden days, we will continue to uphold that spirit, and organize more activities to power positivity and kindness. Together, we can brave the storm and enjoy the rainbow.
